Vice Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, Visits HU

On September 24, 2026, Dr. Irwan Meilano, Vice Rector of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia, paid a courtesy visit to Hiroshima University (HU) and met with Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko of HU.
During the meeting, the two sides engaged in a lively exchange of views on strengthening collaboration between the two universities, including the further promotion of faculty and student exchanges.

Institut Teknologi Bandung, located in Bandung, West Java, is one of Indonesia’s leading national universities specializing in science and technology. HU and ITB concluded a university-level international exchange agreement in September 2006 and have since developed close ties through various exchanges. To date, 126 students from ITB have studied at HU.

HU currently has 32 university-level international exchange agreements with 26 institutions and 66 department-level international exchange agreements with 53 institutions in Indonesia. At present, 141 Indonesian students are enrolled at HU. This visit is expected to further promote exchanges and collaboration with ITB as well as other universities and research institutions in Indonesia.
