Hiroshima University held an international event, "ASIAN & MIDDLE EASTERN SATURDAY," on October 24, 2026, at the Phoenix International Center MIRAI CREA.
This "SATURDAY" series, which consists of four international exchange events in a year, was designed to foster community building among international citizens and cross-cultural exchange. By bringing together international students and residents of Higashi-Hiroshima from diverse backgrounds, the event aims to serve as a new platform for promoting internationalization within the city.

ASIAN & MIDDLE EASTERN SATURDAY, the second event of the series in 2026, was held under the theme of Asian and Middle Eastern regions.
International students from Asian and Middle Eastern countries and regions (Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Timor-Leste, Vietnam) hosted booths to introduce the history and culture of their home countries. On the stage, cultural presentations and musical performances were held, creating a lively atmosphere that brought the entire audience together.
Despite the rainy weather and poor walking conditions, a total of 156 participants—including members of the general public and students from our university—attended the event. They enjoyed interacting with international students while deepening their understanding of the Asian and Middle Eastern regions.
In addition to this event, two more events with different regional themes are scheduled to be held during this academic year.
