On October 26, 2026, a delegation from the Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong), led by its Director, Prof. Arun Mohan Sherry, paid a courtesy visit to Hiroshima University (HU) and met with HU President Mitsuo Ochi. Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko, and Specially Designated Associate Professor Sushil Raut of the IDEC Institute, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on opportunities for future collaboration between the two institutions, including faculty and student exchanges. A university-level international exchange agreement was also signed between HU and IIM Shillong.

IIM Shillong is a public, fully autonomous management institute located in Shillong, Meghalaya, in northeastern India. It offers postgraduate and doctoral programs in management, as well as executive education programs. The institute also conducts Management Development Programmes (MDPs) covering a wide range of management disciplines.

This visit and the signing of the agreement are expected to further promote academic exchanges and collaboration between HU and IIM Shillong, as well as with other universities and research institutions in India.
