On October 10 and 14, 2025, a Welcome Party was held at the Mermaid Café Hiroshima University branch, located on the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University..

  This event was organized to welcome new international students who arrived at Hiroshima University in October and to provide an opportunity for international exchange among all students and faculty members on campus.

  One of the four welcome events held annually alongside the IDEC×SmaSo Open Day and the Cultural Exchange Event, it attracted a total of 370 students and faculty members over the two days. Participants enjoyed food and drinks while making new friends and expanding their social circles..

  During the opening ceremony, Vice Executive Director Kim and three representatives from international student associations delivered speeches, expressing their delight in welcoming the new international students into the university community.

  Participants shared positive feedback such as, “I was able to make many new friends,” and “It was a great opportunity to meet people from various backgrounds,” highlighting the event’s success as a platform for intercultural exchange.
