The International Friendship Party is held every year with the goal of strengthening and deepening friendships between international students and researchers and those who support and teach them. With roughly 700 people in attendance this year, it was truly a magnificent event. His attendance also made for a very meaningful gathering.

President Muta led the opening ceremonies with a speech encouraging the international students and expressing gratitude to those who support them in the region. Following President Muta's speech were speeches by a representatives of the guests, the president of the Hiroshima University-Korea Alumni Association, and a representative of the students. After the speeches, the Dean of the Graduate School of International Cooperation, Professor Kimio Saito, gave a toast.

The evening also included entertainment by school clubs, such as cheerleading and tai-chi, and even a band formed by the short-term exchange students in the HUSA program and their advisor, who captivated the audience with their performance. During dinner, President Muta went to each table to talk with the international students and researchers, who eagerly chatted with him. President of the Hiroshima University Alumni Association, Dr. Harada, gave the closing address amid a cheerful atmosphere of deep cross-cultural exchange, ending the evening's events.
