"Globalization Support Internship" Students in the HUSA Program (Hiroshima University Study Abroad Program) Undertook the International Exchange Practicum in Kurahashi Festival

International student interns and volunteers of the HUSA (Hiroshima University Study Abroad) Program (from USA, China, Taiwan, Korea, Mexico, and Thailand), taking the “Globalization Support Internship” Course (by Dr. Tsunematsu), joined the Kurahashi Festival on February 19, to undertake the international exchange project as their internship practicum.

At the festival, they set up a booth, “Hiroshima University International Center” to interact with local people. This was the third time for HUSA students to participate in the Kurahashi Festival.

Enjoying American Game Show and Making Chinese Masks

The international interns and students delivered event activities of “American game show” and “making Chinese masks”. From infants to adults, so many people enjoyed the activities together in the tent.

Introducing International Students on the Festival Stage

The international students made appearance on the festival stage together with the Kurahashi Tourism Volunteer guide. Students also performed salsa dance on the stage.

To close the festival, students experienced mochimaki(rice cake throwing). International students are becoming a part of the local community by working together. We are looking forward to seeing further international exchange opportunities in local societies in Japan.
