The Institue for Peace Science, Hiroshima University, and the UNITAR Hiroshima Office will be co-hosting the 90th UNITAR Public Session "Inspiring Transformation in Afghanistan: The Current and Future Role of Japan's Support" as follows. We look forward to welcoming you at the session.

About the Session

Japan has been deeply supporting the reconstruction of Afghanistan for many years. Keynote speaker, H.E. Mitsuji Suzuka, Japanese Ambassador to Afghanistan, will explore the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as future prospects, from the Japanese perspective.

This public session, co-sponsored by the Institute for Peace Science at Hiroshima University, coincides with the UNITAR Afghanistan Fellowship Programme: Inspiring Transformation Hiroshima workshop.

Established in 2003, the annual six-month-long Fellowship is a post-conflict training programme that builds the capacity, and enhances the leadership, management, and professional skills of a core group of senior government officials, academics, and practitioners from Afghanistan.
