On January 16 2018, Hiroshima University concluded an inter-university agreement with Hong Bang International University. President Thai Ba Can paid a courtesy visit to the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of HU and signed the agreement with President Mitsuo Ochi.

Hong Bang International University is a private university in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Previously, HU School of Dentistry signed a department-level exchange agreement with Hong Bang International University and, since the agreement commenced, both universities deepened their academic exchange.

Currently, there are 1,745 international students enrolled in HU. Amongst the international students, the number of Vietnamese students studying in HU is ranked fourth, after Chinese, Indonesian and Korean, with a total of 70 students.

During this visit, both universities signed the annex for student exchange. It is hoped that the exchange between the universities will continue to develop.
