Hiroshima University Hospital signed Agreement with the National Cancer Center, Mongolia

On March 28, 2018, the signing ceremony was conducted between Hiroshima University Hospital (HUH) and the National Cancer Center, Mongolia (NCCM).

The National Cancer Center, Mongolia is a center succeeded from the State Radiotherapy Hospital which was established in Ulaanbaatar in 1961. It has grown the best institution in treatment, survey and research of cancer in Mongolia. NCCM has provided the residency programs as well, and contributed to cultivating the physicians in the nation.

It the signing ceremony held at Hiroshima University Kasumi Medical Campus, an agreement was officially concluded in attendance of faculty and staff members from NCCM – Prof. Jigjidsuren Chinburen, General Director, Dr. Uranchimeg Tsegmed, head of the Non Surgical Oncology Clinic, Dr. Minjmaa Minjgee, head of the Department of Radiation Oncology, and Dr. Gerelmaa Enkhbat, Breast Surgeon of the Department of Thoracic surgery  - and faculty members from HUH –Prof. Katsuhiro Hirakawa, former director, Prof. Yasushi Nagata, Prof. Hideki Ohdan, Prof. Nobuyuki Hirohashi and Prof. Nobuo Adachi as representatives of the priority areas for further collaborations. They all agreed upon promoting future collaborative activities.

As a special guest, Yokozuna Hakuho, sumo wrestler attended the ceremony at the invitation of Dr. Chinburen. His attendance made the ceremony symbolizing the amicable relationship between Japan and Mongolia at Hiroshima University.

The Agreement will facilitate the mutual exchange of staffs and students between the two institutions.
