Cooperation Agreement was signed with Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, the Republic of Peru

On May 4th, 2018, President Mitsuo Ochi and Executive and Vice President Toshiyuki Sato visited Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in the Republic of Peru and met Rector Orestes Cachay Boza. President Ochi and Rector Cachay signed an interuniversity cooperation agreement and confirmed their cooperation to further enhance the education and research of both universities in the future.

Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos was founded in 1551 as Royal University of Lima (Real y Pontificia Universidad de Lima), the oldest officially established university in South America. It has produced many influential scholars and politicians over the years and is one of the best universities in Peru.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, we look forward to active academic exchange between the two universities.
