Offering HU's sincere condolences to those people in Indonesia who have been affected by the earthquake/tsunami

On 28th September 2018, an earthquake of magnitude 7.5 occurred with a tsunami in the central region of Sulawesi in Indonesia, causing many casualties. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the victims of the earthquake/tsunami, and my thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who have been affected by the disaster.

Hiroshima University (HU) has been actively engaged with international exchanges with the universities on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia, which include concluding of inter-university agreements with universities such as Universitas Hasanuddin and Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar, and having set up the Hiroshima University Makassar Alumni Association there. All the faculty/administrative members and students at HU are deeply saddened to hear the news of terrible earthquake. HU is prepared to do as much as it could, to provide support to those areas affected by the earthquake/tsunami so that the cities, towns and villages there will be quickly restored without any further delay.
