Hiroshima University has ranked in at 45th in the Reuters Top 75: Asia Pacific’s Most Innovative Universities 2019

Hiroshima University (HU) has come to 45th place (Country rank: 13th) for the Asia Pacific’s Most Innovative Universities Ranking released by Reuters.

Reuters’ Asia Pacific’s Most Innovative Universities identifies top 75 universities by using database related to Patent/Paper Citations, and it ranks the educational institutions doing the most to advance science, invent new technologies and help drive the global economy. Reuter has been annually providing the ranking list in the last four years.

The profile page of HU on Thomson Reuters’ Website mentions some of the HU’s distinguished research performance including a unique “oral appliance”which will lead to symptomatic improvement for the patients with sleep apnea (developed by researchers from the Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences), and a “foldable bridge” which is expected to enable rapid post-disaster rescue missions and infrastructure restoration (developed by researchers from the Graduate School of Engineering).
