HU's new “Policies and Guidelines at Hiroshima University for Respecting Gender and Sexual Diversity -for LGBT+ Students”

Based on Hiroshima University’s founding principle “A single unified university, free and pursuing peace”, we strive to accept a wide variety of individuals, respect each individual’s autonomy, eliminate discrimination, and establish an environment in which all our members can fully demonstrate their capabilities to the fullest extent possible without any worry.

To implement specific measures toward realizing our ideals, we designed this guideline for supporting LGBT+ Students. The guideline will be made applicable with the start date of April 1st, 2020.

By the time of the application of the guideline, we will have new facilities in place on campus, such as changing room partitions in the Building J of School of Integrated Arts and Sciences and multipurpose room (restroom, shower room, changing room) in the West Gymnasium. We will continue to make efforts for accommodating all students with diverse backgrounds and making them feel comfortable and welcome.
