Final report-out session of JICA's "Japan-Mexico Training Program for the Strategic Global Partnership" was held

On December 3rd,2019, the final report-out session of five trainees from Mexico was held.

The training program was consigned by JICA Chugoku to Hiroshima University and supervised by Professor N. Hirami in charge of Global Collaboration, Office of Academic Research and Industry-Government Collaboration. The program was performed under the theme of “Startup Creation and Innovation Ecosystem Development” from May through December this year.

After basic learning, three research projects were conducted: (1) The small hydropower ecosystem in the Chugoku region, (2) Factors for the success of an innovation ecosystem within a traditional craft industry: the cases of Fude in Japan and the Rebozo in Mexico; and (3) Play, learn and become an entrepreneur!  

The event was held in the Hall of the Central Library at the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus. After an active question-and-answer session, each trainee received a completion certificate from Mr. Tomohiro Suzuki, JICA. Afterwards, the trainees also received the academic completion certificate from Prof. Y. Kawahara, HU’s Executive Vice President (Industry-Academia-Government and Community Collaboration).

This program was first implemented in 2017, and this year is the second time it takes place.
