(2020.2.5) [Notice to all examinees for entrance examinations of Hiroshima University] Important notification for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)

Since December 2019, cases of Novel Coronavirus infection have been reported in Wuhan, China, and the number of patients has increased not only in China but also in countries other than China, including Japan.

On January 28, the Novel Coronavirus was approved by the Cabinet as a "designated infectious disease" based on the Infectious Diseases Control Law and a "quarantine infectious disease" based on the Quarantine Act.

When taking the entrance examination for 2020, it is important to take the following infection control measures, taking into account the fact that there are many colds and flu.

  • Wash hands often
  • Wear a mask
  • Do cough etiquette*
  • Disinfect the items that you touch (with ethanol or home cleaner)
  • Ventilate well
  • Avoid a crowded place
  • Check the latest information

*When coughing and sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue. Throw tissue immediately into a closed trash bin and wash your hands with soap and water.

If you wear a mask in the exam room, you may need to remove the mask when collating photos. Please note that proctors in the exam room may also wear masks.

We encourage you to use the disinfectant placed in the entrance of the examination venue and wear a face mask. Especially, if you have symptoms such as fever or cough, be sure to wear a face mask to cover mouth and nose and inform the staff of Hiroshima University of your conditions.
