(2020.6.1) Regarding the continued cancellation of extracurricular activities and closure of extracurricular facilities

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, all extracurricular activities have been prohibited since April 3rd (Friday). We believe that there are many students wishing to resume their extracurricular activities. However, although the state of emergency has been lifted, it is necessary to continue sufficient measures in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Considering the recent state of affairs, Hiroshima University will, in principle, conduct classes of the second term online, and some in-person classes will be conducted with sufficient measures to prevent the spread of infection.

In the current situation in which we do not have the means to conduct all classes in-person while preventing the spread of infection, it is difficult to resume extracurricular activities. For this reason, we will continue to suspend extracurricular activities until further notice. All activities other than those online will continue to be prohibited and extracurricular facilities will remain closed.

We are very sorry that these measures may cause you inconvenience for an extended period of time. We ask that you continue to understand the importance of infection prevention and that you work together at this time.

Furthermore, we may adjust the time period regarding the cancellation of extracurricular activities and closure of such facilities depending on the evolving situation of COVID-19. In such a case, we will notify you with any changes.

To new students: Introductions of university extracurricular groups are posted on “Momiji”, so please feel free to check the information there.
