Mr. Nikhilesh Giri, Consul General of India, Osaka-Kobe, visits HU

On October 19 2021, Mr. Nikhilesh Giri, Consul General of India, Osaka-Kobe, visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus where he had a discussion with President Mitsuo Ochi. Executive Vice President Shinji Kaneko in charge of Global Initiatives, Executive Vice President Manabu Abe in charge of Research and Academia-Government-Community Collaboration, and Vice President Akimasa Fujiwara in charge of Academy of Hiroshima University (HU), also participated in the discussion.

During the discussion, opinions were exchanged on topics such as furthering student and academic exchange in HU’s ILDP program (Japan-India International Linkage Degree Program) and promoting academic exchange between HU and academic institutions in India.

In addition to the discussion, the participants also exchanged opinions with our teachers and students from India, test drove an autonomous shuttle (HIROMOBI), and visited the Robotics Laboratory of the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering.

Going forward, it is hoped that partnerships between HU and academic institutions in India will be further enhanced through academic and personnel exchanges.
