On August 28, 2023, a group of delegates accompanying Party Committee Deputy Secretary Ye Haijiang of Beihua University, China, visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University (HU) and engaged in a discussion with Executive Vice President in charge of Global Initiatives Shinji Kaneko.

During the courtesy visit, they exchanged opinions on various topics such as the strengthening of educational exchange and cooperation between both universities, an initiative to promote mutual programs for inter-university exchange projects for personnel and students, and opportunities for research cooperation. Furthermore, Party Committee Deputy Secretary Ye Haijiang handed over an inter-university international exchange agreement between the two universities as well as the Annex on the Implementation of the 3+1 Program to Executive Vice President Kaneko.

Beihua University has three campuses within China and is the largest-scale university in the province of Jilin. HU has signed 129 inter-university international exchange agreements with 115 institutions as well as 83 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 79 institutions in China. Currently, there are 1,077 students from China studying at HU.

This visit is expected to promote further exchange with Beihua University and other universities and research institutions in China.
