On July 5th, 2024, Deputy Party Secretary Liu He of Jilin University of Finance and Economics (JUFE), China, visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University (HU) and engaged in a discussion with Director Ichihashi of the IDEC Institute, faculty of the Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation, and representatives from the Global Exchange Group.
During this visit, they exchanged opinions on future international exchange between the two universities, including HU’s educational philosophy, human resource development including student management and employment support, and the 3+1 Program, a unique international student acceptance program at HU to which 5 students from JUFE will be admitted this fall.
JUFE was established as a training class for Northeast Bank employees in 1946, and now is one of the key universities in Jilin Province jointly operated by the State Taxation Administration. It aims to train high-level personnel in the fields of finance and tax management, and it currently has economics, international economic trade, accounting, and Japanese, etc. as national-level specialty majors.
HU has concluded 131 inter-university international exchange agreements with 117 institutions and 84 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 80 institutions in China. Currently, 1,322 students from China are studying at HU. With this visit, HU will promote exchange with JUFE as well as other universities and research institutions in China.
