On June 9, 2025, President Mitsuo Ochi of Hiroshima University (HU) gave a special lecture at the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University Bratislava, Slovakia, on his research and clinical experiences over the past 30 years. An audience of more than 30 people, including students and faculty of Comenius University Bratislava, gathered at the venue and listened intently to the lecture.
In his lecture, President Ochi explained the results of his research to date and the treatment methods he has developed, focusing on regenerative medicine for knee cartilage, using photos and videos. In particular, clinical research on regenerative medicine, in which cultured bone marrow cells are magnetically guided to the affected area, attracted a particularly high level of interest, and a lively Q&A session ensued.
After the lecture, Japanese students studying at the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University Bratislava had a chance to meet with President Ochi, and had a lively exchange of opinions about their studies there and their future career paths. One student commented, "It was a very valuable learning experience to hear directly from President Ochi, who has been at the forefront of research and clinical experience in regenerative medicine.”
