Through the Program for Forming Japan’s Peak Research Universities (J-PEAKS) initiative, Hiroshima University is advancing interdisciplinary research and global partnerships by leveraging world-class research infrastructure, including synchrotron radiation facilities.
Hiroshima University will host the Hiroshima University J-PEAKS International Symposium 2026 "New Frontiers through Interdisciplinary Research Integration— Focusing on Synchrotron Radiation Science —"
on Monday 2, March, 2026, as part of the J-PEAKS and will serve as a key platform to showcase these efforts and to open new frontiers in interdisciplinary and international research.
This symposium is jointly organized in connection with
The 30th Hiroshima International Symposium on Synchrotron Radiation (March 3–4, 2026),
and aims to foster new interdisciplinary research initiatives originating from synchrotron radiation science, while strengthening international research collaboration.
The program will include an overview and progress report of the J-PEAKS initiative, invited lectures by international researchers, and research presentations by faculty members and early-career researchers from Hiroshima University’s J-PEAKS priority research hubs, including semiconductors, chiral knot materials, regenerative and cellular medicine, genome editing, and synchrotron radiation science (HiSOR).

A networking reception will be held following the symposium to promote information exchange and international networking among participants.
Posters introducing the J-PEAKS initiative and research activities at each priority hub will be displayed during the reception, providing opportunities for interdisciplinary dialogue and future collaboration.
