On October 31, 2026, Hiroshima University held the "Hiroshima University Introduction & Exchange Event" at the University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-ULIS).
This event was jointly organized through the strong support and warm collaboration of VNU-ULIS. Following the joint study abroad fair held on the previous day by the "J-WISE Alliance"—a partnership of seven national universities in Western Japan—this session was held to provide an opportunity to share in greater depth the appeal of Hiroshima University’s education, research, and comprehensive international student support systems.
At the opening ceremony, Shinji Kaneko, Executive Vice President for Global Initiatives, delivered an opening address expressing profound gratitude to the co-host, VNU-ULIS. In his remarks, Executive Vice President Kaneko highlighted that Hiroshima University, as a core institution of the J-WISE Alliance, places great importance on welcoming and supporting international students from Vietnam. He emphasized the university's commitment to actively accepting outstanding Vietnamese students by building upon its superior educational and research environment, vibrant campus life, and extensive support for scholarships and career development.
On the day of the event, faculty and staff from five undergraduate schools and one graduate school gathered(School of Integrated Arts and Sciences, School of Letters, School of Law, School of Science, School of Applied Biological Science, and Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering) on-site to provide detailed explanations of their curricula, research fields, and student life at individual booths. In addition, four Vietnamese alumni of Hiroshima University joined the event as volunteer interpreters, facilitating smooth communication between prospective students and university representatives while warmly sharing their firsthand study-in-Japan experiences. The venue welcomed many students aspiring to study at Hiroshima University, creating an engaging and lively forum for exchange where attendees actively consulted and interacted with faculty, staff, and alumni.
