Born under a new system in 1949, Hiroshima University's history dates back to 1874, when the Hakushima School — its oldest predecessor school — was founded. In over 140 years, the university has produced numerous talented individuals.
In this sense, 2024 marks 75 years since the foundation of HU and 150 years since the founding of its oldest predecessor school.
As part of HU's 75+75th anniversary project, the university has created a new catchphrase and logo.
The catchphrase, "Row out into a sea of chaos; go beyond the horizon of creativity," was chosen based on on-campus submissions and the opinions of public relations and advertising experts.
The logo design reaffirms the university's history and combines the 75th-anniversary theme with Hiroty, our university mascot.
The catchphrase and logo will be actively used on business cards, PR magazines, and merchandise to widely publicize the 75+75th anniversary project.
