[Breaking News] Possible unexploded ordnance found at Kasumi Campus (no impact on medical services)

Japanese

On the morning of May 13, what appears to be an unexploded ordnance was discovered during underground excavation work at the demolition site of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences lecture building on Hiroshima University’s Kasumi Campus in Minami Ward, Hiroshima City. Police and other relevant authorities are currently conducting an investigation.

Access to the area surrounding the site has been restricted; however, medical services at the University Hospital are unaffected and continuing as usual.

As a precautionary measure, all lectures at the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences on Kasumi Campus will be suspended from this afternoon. The safety of our students, faculty, and staff remains our highest priority, and we will continue to respond appropriately in coordination with the relevant authorities.
