A Delegation from The Education University of Hong Kong, Visits HU

On June 3, 2025, a delegation led by Vice President Cheng May Hung May from The Education University of Hong Kong(EdUHK), paid a courtesy visit to Hiroshima University’s Higashi-Hiroshima Campus and held discussion with Executive Vice President(Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko. The meeting was also attended by Specially Appointed Professor Norio Matsumi, Dean of the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on future student exchange, joint research, and cooperation to improve their global university rankings.

EdUHK was founded in 1994 as The Hong Kong Institute of Education(HKIEd) by merging four teacher training colleges and the Institute of Language Teaching. In 2016, HKIEd changed its name to its current name, The Education University of Hong Kong(EdUHK), and has since grown further.
EdUHK concluded an inter-university international exchange agreement with HU in 2019, as well as a double degree program with HU Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the doctoral program, and has been steadily deepening exchanges ever since.

HU has 5 inter-university international exchange agreements with 4 institutions and 3 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 3 institutions in Hong Kong. Currently, 4 students from Hong Kong are studying at HU. This visit is expected to promote exchanges with EdUHK and other universities and research institutions in Hong Kong.
