A Delegation from the University of Transport and Communications, Vietnam, Visits HU

On July 30, 2025, a delegation led by Vice President LE Hoai Duc from the University of Transport and Communications, Vietnam, paid a courtesy visit to the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University (HU) and held discussion with Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko. Professor Tran Dang Xuan (The IDEC Institute), director of HU Vietnam base, also participated in the meeting online. During the meeting, they exchanged opinions on the possibility of collaboration in the fields of transportation engineering, semiconductors, and smart infrastructure.

The University of Transport and Communications was established in 1945 by order of the president. It is Vietnam's largest national technical university specializing in transportation and logistics, and is highly regarded both domestically and internationally. HU signed an inter-university international exchange agreement with the University of Transport and Communications in 2009, and since then, nearly 20 graduates from that university have studied at HU.

HU has concluded 13 inter-university international exchange agreements with 10 institutions and 30 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 21 institutions in Vietnam. Currently, 67 students from Vietnam are studying at HU. With this visit, HU will promote exchange with the University of Transport and Communications as well as other universities and research institutions in Vietnam.
