A Delegation from the Chirchik Branch of Tashkent State Medical University in Uzbekistan Visits HU

On December 2, 2025, a delegation led by Director Sultanov Gafurdjon of the Chirchik Branch of Tashkent State Medical University in Uzbekistan, paid a courtesy visit to the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University (HU) and met with Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko. During the meeting, both universities introduced their institutions and exchanged views on various possibilities for future collaboration, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and co-hosted workshops.

Tashkent State Medical University is one of Uzbekistan’s most historic and prestigious national universities, founded in 1920. It offers a wide range of educational programs in fields such as general medicine, nursing, and preventive medicine.

HU has so far produced 42 graduates from Uzbekistan, and currently, 5 Uzbek students are enrolled. With this visit, HU will promote exchange with Tashkent State Medical University as well as other universities and research institutions in Uzbekistan.
