A Delegation Led by Consul General Kang Ho Jeung of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hiroshima Visits HU

On December 18, 2025, a delegation led by Consul General Kang Ho Jeung of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hiroshima paid a courtesy visit to the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University (HU) and met with President Mitsuo Ochi.
Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko also attended the meeting, during which participants exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between universities in Japan and Korea.

Earlier the same day, Consul General Kang gave a special lecture titled “Turning Points in Japan–Korea Relations Since 1945: In Connection with Changes in Korean Politics” at HU’s School of Integrated Arts and Sciences. The lecture was jointly organized by HU’s Institute for Foreign Language Research and Education and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hiroshima, and the students in attendance listened attentively until the very end.

HU has concluded 21 inter-university international exchange agreements with 14 institutions and 36 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 27 institutions in Korea. Currently, 41 Korean students are studying at HU. With this visit, HU will promote further exchange with universities and research institutions in Korea.
