On March 17, 2026, Mr. Salohiddin Ibodov, Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan, visited Hiroshima University (HU) and held a meeting with Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko. During the meeting, an overview of HU was presented, followed by an exchange of views on potential future collaborations, including student and faculty exchanges with universities and research institutions in Tajikistan.

This visit was realized in conjunction with the Navruz celebration held on the same day by Tajik students currently enrolled at HU.

To date, HU has produced 19 graduates from Tajikistan, and currently hosts 6 students from the country. It is expected that this visit will further promote academic and research exchanges with universities and research institutions in the Republic of Tajikistan.
