Research Institute for Semiconductor Engineering (RISE)

Research Institute Overview

Research Institute for Semiconductor Engineering (RISE) consists of three divisions: Semiconductor Strategic Research, Nano-Device Research, and Interdisciplinary Research, along with the Research Support and Facilities Operation Office. The institute promotes cutting-edge research and human resource development through the MEXT Research Center for Biomedical Engineering (RCBE) and the MEXT Initiative to Establish Next-generation Novel Integrated Circuits Centers (X-NICS). The institute also supports researchers via the Advanced Research Infrastructure for Materials and Nanotechnology (ARIM), offering access to clean room facilities at Hiroshima University. The Setouchi Semiconductor Consortium also focuses on developing students and professionals through industry-government-academia collaboration.

Message from the Research Institute

Research Institute for Semiconductor Engineering (RISE) is actively recruiting postgraduate students in the fields of material physics, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, information engineering, and communication engineering from within the university and beyond, who are interested in practical research in fields such as medical engineering and bio-sensing. We also accept international researchers, exchange students, visiting scholars, and mature PhD candidates, so you will be able to study in a cosmopolitan, international atmosphere.
