International Exchange

Vice President of China Foreign Affairs University Visits HU

On April 1, 2025, a delegation from China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU) led by Vice President Sun Jisheng paid a courtesy visit to the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University (HU) and met with Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko. Dean Norio Matsumi, Professor Nobuhito Yoshinaka, and Professor Kazuo Tomozawa from the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences also attended the meeting. During the meeting, they exchanged opinions on the possibility of expanding future exchange and collaboration between the two universities, including student exchange through HU's various programs for accepting international students.

CFAU was founded in 1955 at the suggestion of Premier Zhou Enlai, and since then has produced a large number of people engaged in diplomatic and foreign affairs, making it one of the leading liberal arts foreign language universities in China. In April 2014, an inter-university international exchange agreement was signed between the two universities, and to date, approximately 30 students from CFAU have studied at HU, further deepening exchange.

HU has concluded 133 inter-university international exchange agreements with 121 institutions and 84 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 80 institutions in China. Currently, 1,337 students from China are studying at HU. We hope that this courtesy visit will strengthen the ties between HU and China in terms of student exchange, education, and research.
