(Nov. 4th, 5th) We will be hosting Homecoming Day & University Festival at Higashi Hiroshima Campus (Guidebook uploaded)

Hiroshima University will be hosting a Homecoming Day and University Festival on November 4th (SAT) and 5th (SUN). We will be welcoming people with many different events. Please come with a friend! 

On the days we will be holding a campus guidance center with student staff passing out comprehensive guide books, and will be ready to answer your questions.

The Homecoming day at Kasumi campus and the Kasumi Festival (University Festival at Kasumi campus) will be held on November 11th (SAT) and 12th (SUN). Find the details here (link to a Japanese page).

Main Events

11th Hiroshima University Homecoming Day

Every year Hiroshima University and The University Alumni Association hold a homecoming day as an event to invite alumni and former faculties on the first Saturday of November.

  • Date: November 4th 2017(SAT)

Homecoming Day Special Event

Special Lecture “The lure of Egypt excavation” by Mr. Sakuji Yoshimura (President of Higashi Nippon International University, and Professor Emeritus of Waseda University)

  • Time: 11:30-12:30
  • Venue: Satake Memorial Hall

There will be student-held booths and we will be presenting you with the many extra-curricular activities of Hiroshima University.

18th School of Education Festival “E-Storm”

The School of Education will host many events. There are many activities perfect for young children.

No-Jo (Farm) Festival

No-Jo Festival is an event designed to present a part of the School of Applied Biological Science’s farming land to the general public. The faculty and students in the School of Applied Biological Science will present a variety of events working together as one.

  • Date and Time: November 5th (SUN) 2017 10:30-16:00
  • Place: Higashi-Hiroshima Campus Farm (Map)
    ※The closest bus stop is “Daigaku Kaikan Mae”. (Campus Map)
    ※Please be sure to use the shuttle bus departing from the bicycle parking area in the School of Applied Biological Science.

The special shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes (10:15-15:30). For preventive measures (to prevent the farm animals getting infected by foot-and-mouth disease, notifiable diseases), coming directly to the farm (front gate & north gate) by bicycle, motorcycle, and walking is strictly prohibited. Also, please note that visitors who have been abroad in the last 2 weeks are not allowed in the farm.

IDEC OPEN DAY 2017

HU international students from over 30 countries will give performance of sound and dance. You can enjoy dishes of each country for free of charge! We have many events including “traditional cultural attire experience” and an exhibition of photos taken around the world. Come and enjoy the IDEC OPEN DAY that will make you feel as if you are in a different country.
