Ambassador of Mexico to Japan H.E. Ms. Melba PRÍA Visits HU

On July 9th, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to Japan H.E. Ms. Melba María PRÍA Olavarrieta and representative of Guanajuato Secretariat of Economic Development in Japan Mr. Rodolfo Gonzalez paid a visit to the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University (HU) and had a discussion with President Mitsuo Ochi. The meeting was also attended by Executive Vice President Toshiyuki Sato (in charge of International, Peace and Fund affairs).

At the meeting, they discussed topics on academic exchange between HU and universities in Mexico as well as the Japan-Mexico Rectors’ Summit where rectors of universities of both Japan and Mexico will meet in Mexico this coming September.

HU has actively engaged in exchange with universities in Mexico over the years, such as launching its Guanajuato Center in the premise of University of Guanajuato in March 2017 and hosting the Japan-Mexico Rectors’ Summit in Hiroshima City in November the same year.

We are expecting further development of academic exchanges with universities in Mexico.
