HU unveils new monument to foster university and civic pride

HU monument

Hiroshima University (HU) has unveiled the "HU Monument" in front of its Central Library on the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus. 

Designed by Professor Takahiro Tanaka and his students from the Urban and Architectural Planning Laboratory at the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, the monument aims to foster a sense of community and pride among HU students, faculty, staff, and the wider public. 

The installation of the HU Monument is part of the university's efforts to promote the concept of civic pride, which has gained recognition as an important factor in urban development. 

The monument is also available for local residents and visitors to take commemorative photos.
