On November 12, 2024, a delegation led by Prof. Chen Shaojuan, Vice President of the Qingdao University of Technology (QUT), paid a courtesy visit to Hiroshima University's Higashi-Hiroshima campus and held discussions with Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives) Shinji Kaneko.
During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the promotion of future collaboration between the two universities in education and research.

QUT is an engineering-oriented general university with specialties in civil engineering and architecture, mechanical and manufacturing engineering, and environmental and energy engineering. It has produced more than 240,000 highly qualified scientific, technical, and managerial personnel over the past 70 years and boasts high employment rates, job quality, and employer satisfaction. QUT also emphasizes overseas collaboration, including partnerships with more than 100 renowned universities and research institutions in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, Switzerland, Japan, Korea, and other countries.

HU has concluded 133 inter-university international exchange agreements with 119 institutions and 84 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 80 institutions in China. Currently, 1166 students from China are studying at HU.
We hope that this courtesy visit will strengthen the ties between HU and China in terms of student exchange, education, and research.
