The 1st Peace Lecture Marathon by H.E. Dr. Khaled Atef Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt was held

On October 10th, H.E. Dr. Khaled Atef Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Egypt, delivered a lecture entitled “Egypt science and education connect to Hiroshima and deliver peace message to the world” at the Faculty Club, Hiroshima University. It was the first lecture in the lecture series called “Peace Lecture Marathon.” This lecture series invites government representatives and ambassadors in Tokyo to give a lecture on peace. With these lectures as momentum, we hope that new generations, who are currently enjoying prosperity in the City of Hiroshima, which has been reborn from the atomic destruction of World War II as a world-class city with natural scenery, learn a lot about the importance of peace and our history of hardship.

The venue was filled with faculty, administrative members, and international students of Hiroshima University that avidly listened to the lecture. Following the lecture, President Ochi awarded H.E. Dr. Khaled Atef Abdel Ghaffar with the title of “Hiroshima University Honorary Doctorate.”
