A research paper reported by Professor Kazuyoshi Ukena, Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences, called “Neurosecretory Protein GL, a Hypothalamic Small Secretory Protein, Participates in Energy Homeostasis in Male Mice”, was chosen for the Endocrine Society's thematic issue on Neuroendocrinology 2018.

Professor Ukena’s report describes the characterization of precursor protein, localization, distribution, and biological action of neurosecretory protein GL (NPGL) in the mouse hypothalamus. It also elucidates how NPGL plays a role in feeding behavior and other energy homeostasis in the mouse brain.
