INU Master's Summer School on "Global Citizenship & Peace"

Program Characteristics

・The INU is developing a Joint Master's Program on "Global Citizenship and Peace", making use of already existing programs from INU member universities.

・Based on the success of the First INU Student Seminar on Global Citizenship held in August 2006 by HU, discussions and concrete deliberation began on whether an INU Joint Master's Program could be created on the same theme of Global Citizenship.

・During the November 2006 INU Council Meeting, a joint development plan for the INU Master's Program in Global Citizenship and Peace was proposed and approved, and the INU made the formal decision to take on the development as an international university consortium.

Program Components

・Pre-readings and preparation of a paper to be discussed with the group
・An intensive educational program with lectures and workshops with students from accross the globe
・Academic experts and guest speakers from around the world
・United Nations General Assembly Role Play
・An integrated cultural program that introduces a unique side of Hiroshima, including a visit to the Peace Memorial Museum and admission to attend at the annual Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6th
