President Jing-Yang Jou of National Central University, Taiwan, Visits HU

On September 25, 2023, President Jing-Yang Jou of National Central University, Taiwan, visited Hiroshima University (HU) and engaged in a meeting with HU President Ochi. Executive Vice President in charge of Global Initiatives, Shinji Kaneko, as well as Executive Vice President in charge of the Kasumi Campus, Faculty Personnel, and Public Relations, Junko Tanaka, were also in attendance.

During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on various topics such as the continuation and expansion of cooperative relations through student exchange from both universities, as well as holding meetings for faculty to exchange opinions with each other.

HU signed its inter-university international exchange agreement with National Central University in 2009. Since then, both universities have been proactive in the exchange of students and faculty through the acceptance and dispatch of students via double-degree programs in the field of engineering, short-term mutual dispatch programs, the establishment of the Hiroshima University Taiwan Research Center at National Central University in 2013, and more.

HU has signed 14 inter-university international exchange agreements with 13 institutions and 29 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 23 institutions in Taiwan. Currently, there are 22 international students from Taiwan studying at HU. This courtesy visit is expected to further promote exchange with National Central University as well as other universities and research institutions in Taiwan.
