On November 27, 2023, Professor Ge Jiyong from Zhengzhou University (ZZU), School of International Studies, Department of Japanese, China, one of our international exchange partner universities, visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University (HU) and engaged in a meeting with HU Executive Vice President for Global Initiatives, Shinji Kaneko. Vice President for International Exchange/Japanese Language Education, Yasushi Maruyama, was also in attendance.

During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the expansion of international student acceptance through the Morito Institute of Global Higher Education 3+1 Program, one of HU’s unique programs. Executive Vice President Kaneko and Vice President Maruyama expressed their expectations for future exchanges, saying, “We hope that many Chinese students will attend the various Japanese educational and other programs offered by HU’s Morito Institute of Global Higher Education.”

HU has signed 130 inter-university international exchange agreements with 116 institutions and 84 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 80 institutions in China. Currently, there are 1,179 international students from China studying at HU. This courtesy visit is expected to further promote exchange with ZZU as well as other universities and research institutions in China.
