On December 1, 2023, Mr. Guo Jian, Secretary of the University Party Committee, from Hebei University, China, one of our international exchange partner universities, visited the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus of Hiroshima University (HU) and engaged in a meeting with HU President Mitsuo Ochi. HU Executive Vice President for Global Initiatives, Shinji Kaneko, was also in attendance.

During the meeting, they exchanged opinions on the future expansion of exchange between the two universities, noting that since the signing of the inter-university international exchange agreement in 2017, HU has accepted 11 students from Hebei University so far through the Morito Institute of Global Higher Education 3+1 Program, one of HU’s unique international student acceptance programs.

HU has signed 130 inter-university international exchange agreements with 116 institutions and 84 inter-faculty international exchange agreements with 80 institutions in China. Currently, there are 1,179 students from China studying at HU. This courtesy visit is expected to promote exchange with universities and research institutions in China, including Hebei University.
