On July 9th, 2024, we held a program completion ceremony for the Morito Institute of Global Higher Education 3+1 Program at School of Education L205 Lecture Room.
This year, 126 students of the eighth class are completing the program.
In his congratulatory speech, the president of Hiroshima University, Mitsuo Ochi, acknowledged the value of learning in a different culture and environment for the students while sharing his similar experiences. The president concluded the speech with words of encouragements for the students' future success in international society.
On behalf of the eighth class, Wnag Xiaoshuang delivered a speech where he looked back on the nine months of learning at Hiroshima University and expressed his gratitude to his academic supervisor as well as all other people involved in the course of his life at the university. He observed that the nine months at the university had deepened his understanding of different cultures and recognition of peace, and he shared his renewed commitment to peace by saying, "In my life, I am going to expand the circle of people with a wish for peace".
After the ceremony, we held a farewell party with the president Ochi, students of the eighth class, and their academic supervisors, where the participants enjoyed a valuable moment of communication and interaction.

※This program accepts students who have completed their junior or sophomore year at universities in other countries (mainly in China) as special auditing students. The program provides them with specialized education and research guidance for their graduation theses which is to be submitted to universities in their home countries. Hiroshima University encourages the students to advance to postgraduate studies after completing the program by building a helpful and appropriate environment for them. The program is named after the first president of Hiroshima University, Tatsuo Morito, who set "a single unified university" as the founding principle of Hiroshima University.
