Mr. Takuya Kitamura, a participant in the Enhancing Development of Global Entrepreneur Program (EDGE program) and his team won first place for their presentation of the Project-Based Learning at the “enPiT BizApp x University of Tsukuba Workshop 2016”

Mr. Takuya Kitamura, the 3rd generation student of the EDGE program and a member of the “1st Penguin Club,” and his team won first place for their result presentation of the Project-Based Learning at the “Education Network for Practical Information Technology (enPIT) BizApp x University of Tsukuba Workshop 2016”.

Presentation Title:
An app “Shu-GO!” that solves situations such as “This must be the place we agreed to meet, but I can’t find her!”

This year, we had a short term intensive training camp with over 93 participants from University of Tsukuba, Ibaraki University, Ehime University, Ochanomizu University, Saitama University, Chiba University, Tokyo University of Science, Yamaguchi University, University of Toyama, Kyushu Institute of Technology, University of Miyazaki, and Waseda University, and had a Project Based Learning (PBL) in 15 different teams. Also, at the dispersed PBL course, 16 teams have been working on a system development project together. Each team delivered a presentation of their efforts on the training camp and the dispersed PBL course, and a demonstration of their products. After carefully examined by the judges, Mr. Kitamura’s team received the top prize.

Mr. Kitamura joined “enPiT”, and learned about the importance and ways of team development, and hypothesis verification processes used in businesses. “I want to utilize the knowledge I learned in enPiT, make use of it in the Smart Phone Application Development Company I operate, and create valuable products”, said Mr. Kitamura, and expressed his future goals. 

Also, with his efforts for the “Programming School for Elementary, Junior High, and High School Students Tech Chance!” activities that Mr. Kitamura operates as a co-delegate, he won first place in the business division at the “15th Campus Venture Grand Prix (CVG) Chugoku Regional Competition”. Mr. Kitamura would be joining the Campus Venture Grand Prix in March as a Chugoku Region Representative. We hope for his success at the Grand prix as well.
