English Camp of the Super Science High School was held at Hiroshima University ~Intercultural Work with International Students ~

On February 1, 2020, 43 students in the Super Science High School (SSH) Program of the Hiroshima University Senior High School participated in the “English Camp” held at Hiroshima University. This is the 8th time to hold the English Camp of the Super Science High School Program. The high school students attended the “Intercultural Communication Workshop” (led by Dr. Naomi Tsunematsu, Associate Professor of Morito Institute of Global Higher Education) to enhance the understanding of university internationalization and intercultural communication. Through the interaction with the international students (from the USA, Thailand, Finland, and China) in the Hiroshima University Study Abroad (HUSA) Program, high school students gained stimulating experience with new knowledge on university and research in the global age.

The high school students also enjoyed the presentation of the international students (from Thailand and the USA) on their home universities and their study abroad experience. In the afternoon, the high school students conducted group presentations on the group research project that they have been developing in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, geology, and mathematics. They will develop their insightful research further by fully utilizing the new experience in the English camp.
