Call for entries for the "Phoenix Coloring Contest"

Mr. Hirofumi Kagami, the designer behind HU’s mascot character Hiroty, is currently creating an illustration of the Higashi-Hiroshima Campus. The line drawing will be released first. Stretch your imagination and take part in the Phoenix Coloring Contest. Participation can be made individually or in groups.

※About the illustrator, Mr. Hirofumi Kamigaki
Illustrator from Kure-Shi. Established the Yūgen Gaisha IC4DESIGN based in Hiroshima in 2006 and has been working across Japan and the world.

How to take part

  1. Click the URL below and download the line drawing data
  2. Color in the downloaded line drawing illustration
  3. Take a picture of the illustration that you have colored in and send it by email (PDF data is also approved)

※The coloring method is completely up to you. You can use color pencils, crayons, paints, computer software, etc.

Application period

May 14th, 2020 (Thursday) – June 5th, 2020 (Friday)

Prizes

  • Hiroshima University President’s Award 1 Person (1 Group)
  • Hirofumi Kamigaki’s Award 1 Person (1 Group)

Hiroty goods will be awarded to those who win the contest.
※Even if a group wins, only one set of goods will be awarded.

Winners announcement・ Awards shipment

Winners will be announced in mid-June and awards (goods) will be shipped in late June.

Other information

We will give away Hiroty clear file folders to 10 people (10 groups) chosen by lottery from among the applicants.

Please contact us by email, making sure you include the following contents:

  1. Please attach your artwork (coloring)
  2. Your name
    ※If you are working as a group, please enter the name of the representative.
  3. Your street address
    ※If you win the prize, we will ship the items to this address.
  4. Phone number
  5. Please write the applicable category.
    General, high school students, junior high school students, elementary school students, infants, and others (   )

Important notice

  • Please note that the submitted work data cannot be returned.
  • We cannot answer inquiries regarding selection.
  • The submitted works and award-winning works will be published on the Hiroshima University website and SNS.
  • All the copyrights of the submitted works belong to Hiroshima University. The submitted works will be used for the management of this contest and may also be used for public relations activities of Hiroshima University.
  • The personal information obtained from the application will be properly managed by Hiroshima University and will be used only when contacting the applicant. However, the "Name" and "Category" will be open to the public when the work is exhibited.
  • Also, the names of the winners may be announced on Hiroshima University’s website and other media such as newspapers.
