At the International Conference on Adaptations and Nutrition in Sports (ICANS) 2023 held in Singapore on July 19-21, a team from the Educational Design for Teacher Educators Program at the Hiroshima University Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences received the Poster Presentation Award.

The team included Associate Professor Shiho Kurosaka, Professor Tatsuya Deguchi, and Associate Professor Takuma Yanaoka.

Kurosaka has been devoted to the development of fun exercises aimed at enhancing bone strength. Leveraging her research insights into their physical and mental health benefits, she has also been widely active in community initiatives. Through collaborations with companies and government entities, she has led projects such as the "AD Telework Exercises," the "Higashihiroshima Special Movie," and the "Hiroshima GENKI Exercise."

In her conference presentation titled "Can the BONE program rejuvenate perceived age?" Kurosaka introduced the Building Osteo Neatly Exercise (BONE) program. BONE focuses on strengthening facial bones, reducing facial wrinkles and puffiness, and effectively rejuvenating one’s appearance.

The award was given in recognition of the originality and impact of the presentation.

"I would like to thank Yoshio Yuzaki for his very enthusiastic guidance and encouragement in preparing the program, Specially Appointed Professor Hiroyuki Wakasa, for his great cooperation throughout the research, and all the participants for their warm support in the experiments. I am very grateful to Professor Takesi Ueda, Tsuyoshi Ueda, and everyone around me for making it possible for me to receive this award at a high-impact conference. I will continue to repay all those who have helped me and to devote myself to contributing to society as a whole," Kurosaka said about the award.
