Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program

Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program

Forty American teachers visited Hiroshima University on 22 November through the Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program.

After opening addresses by President Muta and Vice-Dean Tanaka of the Graduate School of Education, the visitors watched a video introducing Hiroshima University and listened to a lecture by Associate Professor Yanase entitled "Teacher Education at Hiroshima University: Prospect and Challenges".

Following this lecture, the visitors exchanged opinions with faculty and students at the Graduate School of Education on the system for teacher examinations, disability education and the state of education in the U.S.A and Japan.

The Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program was created in April 1996 through agreement between the American and Japanese Governments. The program was created to reciprocate the opportunities provided through the Fulbright Program to over 6,800 Japanese since 1952. Over 600 American school teachers participate in this program each year.
