An online company information session for international students at Hiroshima University was held

On July 1st and July 9th, Nihongomura (a support group for international students at Hiroshima University) held the “Company Information Session for International Students and Businesses” by utilizing online tools.

A total of 31 students and five companies from around Japan participated in this event on both days. After the introductory session, students were divided into groups and were engaged in a lively discussion during the roundtable talk. In the final session, Professor Hirami (from the Office of Research and Academia-Government-Community Collaboration) provided a topic about the retention of international students at Japanese domestic companies for the participants to discuss.

Taking this event as a starting point, international students can seek to settle into Japanese companies through participating in activities such as internships and company visits.

In addition, this event was introduced on NHK “Okonomi Wide (お好みワイド)” on July 10th.
