On May 22, the 11th President of Hiroshima University, Dr. Toshimasa Asahara, was inaugurated in the Administration Building. There were around 200 staff and faculty members in attendance at the ceremony, where President Asahara spoke about his plans for the university, "I want to run the university with the students in mind so that we can cultivate rich and intellectually balanced human beings."



A press conference was held after the ceremony with the new President and new Directors in attendance, and they announced the new organization system for the university.
