President Ochi had a conference with the Chinese Ambassador to Japan

On November 28th, 2023, President Ochi of Hiroshima University (HU) had a conference with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Wu Jianghao from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Japan, who visited Hiroshima to participate in the 13th Japan-China University Presidents' Forum at Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima.  Prof. Shinji Kaneko, Executive Vice President (Global Initiatives), and Mr. Xue, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Osaka, also attended the conference.

First, President Ochi explained about the large number of Chinese students accepted by HU under "The Morito Institute of Global Higher Education 3+1 Program", which is a unique international student acceptance program, and the Japanese Language and Culture Online Program launched on the occasion of the establishment of the Beijing campus.  President Ochi stated that he hopes that more distinguished students from China will come to HU to enjoy studying.

H.E. Mr. Wu thanked HU for hosting the Japan-China University Presidents' Forum and emphasized that it is very meaningful for universities from both countries to participate in the face-to-face exchange.  He praised HU’s initiatives for internationalization and exchanges with other universities, and expressed his hope for further exchanges with Chinese universities in the future.

HU will continue to actively promote further exchanges with Chinese universities.
